Neptune appoints new Head of Fixed Income Strategy

Neptune Investment Management appoints Theodora Zemek, former Global Head of Fixed Income at AXA Investment Managers, as Head of Fixed Income Strategy.

Zemek brings over 30 years of fund management experience to the role, having held  senior positions for a number of asset management companies, most recently Axa Investment Management, where she held the role of Global Fixed Income Head for five years.

Prior to her role at AXA, Zemek held the position of Head of Fixed Income at New Star Investment Management between 2002 and 2008. She also spent nine years working for M&G Investment Management, where she rose to the position of Chief Investment Officer.

Her new role at Neptune Investment Management puts her in charge of the firm’s bond strategy and global research. Reporting directly to Neptune Chief Executive Robin Geffen, she will work closely with the firm’s Chief Economist and Chief Investment Officer, James Dowey.

Neptune has not announced plans to roll out any fixed income products. Zemek will be responsible for the firm’s two multi-asset strategies, the £486m Balanced fund and the £102m Global Alpha fund.

Neptune no doubt hopes Zemek can repeat success she has experienced in her previous roles.

Geffen stated: “Theodora is one of the most senior and respected fixed income experts in the industry.

“With a 30-year record of demonstrable delivery, her wealth of experience and intellectual focus are a perfect fit for Neptune, where we firmly believe in a conviction-based investment approach based on a deep understanding of the sectors in which we work.”

Zemek explained: “Neptune is a firm with a long track record of success and some of the best performance in the market today.

“I have long admired the business’ real world research strategy and am delighted to be joining the senior team at such an exciting time for the business.”
